Die Autorin, 2023

“Die Autorin” is a performative essay by Natalia Zaitseva that revisits the young independent performance scene in Russia from 2012 to 2022. The essay explores authorship, identity art and abstraction as a language for stage communication through performance and music scores.

The theater performance contains pieces of female composers from an experimental collective Moscow Scratch Orchestra, that made music based on the English composer Cornelius Cardew’s theories of improvisation.
